Tony Parker is announced as the future boss of Olympique Lyonnais Groupe, but the former basketball player still admitted that he needed a little time before replacing JM Aulas.
Young retired from the NBA floors where he was still playing last season, Tony Parker clearly did not take a sabbatical year. The former leader of the France team immediately took control of ASVEL, the historic basketball club in the suburbs of Lyon, which has now returned to the OL Group.
His increasingly complicit relationships with Jean-Michel Aulas in terms of business, ambition and vision for the future, make him the favorite to be the next “big boss” of OL Groupe. President Aulas does not even hide it, “TP” has the perfect profile. But even if he was one of the fastest basketball players in the world, Parker doesn’t want to go faster than the music.
In an interview at RMC, the player trained in PSG-Racing wishes to recall that he still clearly has no shoulders for this position. At least for the moment.
“ It is an honor to be considered like that. It would be more to be president of OL Groupe, not than OL. The OL Group represents many things. We want to continue to grow in different sports in the future. It’s a great challenge. I still have a lot to learn. OL is a big machine, there are a lot of things that come into play. It’s a challenge that interests me, it would be really incredible. Compared to everything I started with Asvel, it would be a logical continuation. We get on really well with Jean-Michel, we have a little the same vision but I still prefer to learn. It will be hard not to accept this post in four years if Jean-Michel still wants ,” admitted Tony Parker.
