Suspended since mid-March due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russian first division championship will resume on June 21.
It was announced by the Russian football federation (RFS). In the aftermath, Sergei Priadkin, president of the Russian Premier League, added that “the remaining matches will be played without spectators, (and that) the limits on the holding of mass events are still in force.”
As a reminder, before the interruption, twenty-two days had been played (out of thirty) and the Zénith Saint-Pétersbourg was fairly largely leader.
This week Russia has become the second most affected country in the world by the coronavirus in number of contaminations.
