Free since the end of his contract at Leicester City, Nampalys Mendy is on the way to join the Qatari club of Al Sadd.
The information is released by Sky Sports: Nampalys Mendy is close to Al Sadd, the Qatari club coached by Xavi Hernandez. Four years after moving from Nice to Leicester City for around € 15m, the 28-year-old French defensive midfielder is set to emulate Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla, who also joined Al Sadd this summer at the expiration of his lease at Villarreal.
Landed in Leicester in 2016 to forget N’Golo Kanté, Nampalys Mendy comes out of a complicated season with the Foxes on a personal level with only 368 minutes played in 8 appearances.
