Leading the way in the Premier League going into the game, Chelsea squared off against a struggling Leicester City side hoping to strengthen their grip on the title race.

It took just three minutes for the ‘Blues’ to carve the ‘Foxes’ open, too, with Ben Chilwell breaking in behind before slamming his strike off the bar.

In the 14th minute, the left wing-back was at the centre of the action again, this time providing Rüdiger with the chance to head home past a helpless Kasper Schmeichel.

The hosts have conceded 20 goals from set-pieces since the start of last season – no side has conceded more.

Leicester took a while to respond, but eventually they showed signs of bouncing back. And, if it wasn’t for the offside flag, Ademola Lookman would have found the equaliser after tapping home from a cross in the 24th minute.

It was a moment that the hosts would soon regret, with Kanté driving forward minutes later before smashing home from outside the box for a superb strike against his former club.

Hoping to swing the tide of the game in his side’s favour, Brendan Rodgers introduced both James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho at Half Time.

As the second half progressed, however, it became more and more clear that the substitutions had not made the desired difference, with Chelsea only continuing their dominance.

Chelsea soon reiterated their superiority to seal all three points through a combination of substitutes with 20 minutes remaining when Hakim Ziyech found Pulisic with a pass in the box, allowing the American to finish.

Just moments later, the ball was in the net again but Callum Hudson-Odoi’s tap-in was ruled offside, before Pulisic and Reece James suffered the same fate.

Having secured the three points, Chelsea now sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League, whilst Leicester remain 12th.
