Released from prison just over a month ago, Ronaldinho is still under house arrest in a hotel in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.
The former star of Brazilian football and his brother Roberto are still waiting to be released by their lawyers. “We hope that the prosecution will be convinced and allow Ronaldinho and his brother to return to their country, to Brazil,” a source close to the defense told AFP in reports reported by The Team.
However, the Brazilian still has to wait. The Paraguayan prosecution has six months to investigate and has already ordered the arrest of 18 people linked to the case. The ex-Barça player faces, like his brother, five years in prison.
They were arrested in early March in the South American country for holding false passports. Ronaldinho was then incarcerated and even spent his 40th birthday behind bars.
