Idris Okuneye, commonly known as Bobrisky, a popular cross-dresser, has reacted to a motion by the Nigerian House of Representatives to outlaw cross-dressing.
Connectley Naija News recalls, Umar Muda, a member of the House of Representatives, submitted a measure last week prohibiting cross-dressing in Nigeria.
The bill aims to outlaw cross-dressing, with the exception of individuals who do it for fun.
Crossdressers now face a six-month prison sentence if the proposed law is passed.
The bill aims to alter the same-sex marriage (prohibition) act of 2013 by adding cross-dressing to the list of offenses.
In response to the bill, Bobrisky claimed in an Instagram post that he was not a crossdresser but a lady who had undergone numerous irreversible surgery.
“I’m not a cross-dresser, I’m a woman. I have done many surgeries that can’t be reversed such as lipo, boobs etc.
“When the time comes, even the court self go confirm am say I’m now a girl.”
