Alexandre Lacazette may well change the air this summer. The French striker is in the sights of three upscale clubs, which have started approaches with the player and Arsenal.
Alexandre Lacazette returned to the net against Wolverhampton on Saturday after a streak of five matches without scoring. A goal that has done good to the French international, aged 29, whose situation begins to challenge across the Channel. Under contract until 2022 with Arsenal, the former Lyonnais has obviously not yet made his club want to extend it.
“We need to speak with Alexandre about the future, know his desires, his feelings. Then we will see. But now is not the time to talk too much about contractual situations. We still have time and the appropriate time we will do”, as recently explained by Mikel Arteta.
Focused on extending Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract, whose lease expires in just one year, Arsenal is therefore taking a risk with the French striker future in the club.
Juventus and Atlético on pole
Above all, the Lacazette case alerted leading European clubs. As L’Équipe reveals , three teams have even started discussions with the player’s entourage. These are Inter Milan, Juventus Turin and Atlético de Madrid. Clearly, these three want to recruit the French, author of 10 goals in all competitions this season (only 8 in the Premier League, which places him 24th among the top scorers in the championship ), his worst season since 2013-2014 .
Juventus and Atlético are a little ahead of Inter. And they would have already proposed to the Gunners to integrate a player in the deal. Perhaps Thomas Partey on Atlético side, while the Ghanaian midfielder would interest Arsenal. For now, Arsenal has cooled the heat, wanting to focus on the end of the season and a hypothetical qualification for a European Cup next season .
