Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has resigned as the senator representing Nasarawa West in the 9th Assembly.
His resignation was announced in a letter to the Senate, which was read aloud by Senate President Ahmad Lawan during Tuesday’s legislative session.
Adamu noted that his resignation was prompted by his recent election as the new chairman of the APC.
Senator Abubakar Kyari, his deputy, has also resigned as a senator representing Borno North.
In a second letter to the Senate, he explained that his resignation is due to his new role as the APC’s Deputy National Chairman (North).
